Less than two weeks left in Prague and so many things left to do. Time keeps flying by and it really needs to slow down. This has been a fun week once again! The weekend was spent in Berlin and this next weekend I will be in Switzerland. Berlin was amazing and I expect nothing less from Switzerland, including the prices. My parents also come to Prague on Tuesday and I'm really excited to show them around the city. Final exams for my classes are starting next week and I'm try to find some time to get this studying done! I have noticed a few things this past week which relate to my two classes. First my Educational Psych class. We talked about reinforcement schedules last week and I made a connection here in Prague to the variable interval reinforcement patter. The metro runs on something like this. I have a predicted an average time for each metro arrival time. However, depending on the time of day, this time can change and vary a few minutes. I do know though that the metro will come just some take longer to arrive than others. For my Assessments class, I was writing my test this week and giving it to people to take. It really made me realize how hard writing a good test is. Even after I handed my test out, I had second thoughts about some of the questions. They found the test easy because of the subject matter it was on but it was hard for me since I had to come up with the questions and answers. It was really an eye opener to making tests and the difficulty that comes along with it. It was also interesting to analyze the questions I asked to see how people responded to each and which groups of people were getting them correct. I know now that I probably have taken many tests which did not show accurate measurements of what I learned in that class. Now I know what to expect from a fair test and have the resources to explain to a teacher why their test is not a valid measurement of my knowledge.
