This is Dao keying for the first time from the charming medieval city of Prague. This time last summer I was supposed to be here, but for various personal reason I did not go. One reason I’ll openly admit, I was afraid because the cost was so high for such small amount of time that. I talked to a few people and one person said, why don’t you travel and explore Europe after you finish school that way you won’t feel the financial pressure. This made a lot of sense last summer, and I took that advice and decided to go in the spring.
Through a compilation of conversations, I realize that living here and traveling through here are two totally difference experience. Traveling through an area is like going to Disney Epcot. You as a visit are burden with the task to see everything, or as much as you can in a short amount of time. Living in an area is a world of its own. I am completely spoiled by being able to live so close to the center of the city. At first when I arrived at the Pension in the spring, I thought Oh this is so small, “ugh…” and several people saw my room at the time number 38 and agreed but my roommate said, “yes its small but we make it cute” I’m chucking right now as I recall this incident.
For the sake of sharing I am posting two of my respond from the Miss Vietnam Áo Dài Pageant 2011 in Charlotte. For many years I thought it would be fun to enter a pageant and pretend I have grace, this year I finally muster the courage to do enter. I didn’t win but I made it to the second round. ☺

If I didn’t go, and if I didn’t stay I wouldn’t have value what was so special about this place. People here are like those 300 year old trees in the presidential garden. They have deep roots and most of them are tired. Tired from communism and the fighting so they are quiet and keep themselves even in public spaces and very to the point (sometime hurtful).
