So two weeks have passed and I wonder what I can write about for the weekly blog. I think about it all week wondering what situation would be interesting enough to add. After our class on selective attention, I truly thought that I was very attentive. During the day I am constantly checking to see if someone is following us, I guess that means I am paranoid, but I also constantly checking my surrounds to make sure we are going the correct ways and to find buildings to use as references points. I never doubted my ability until yesterday. I was headed to Budapest by train, I was going to meet Lauren and Megan at our hostel. Before the trip I bought a EuRail pass just for select countries and days, so I just hopped on the train to Budapest. Without thinking, my pass does not cover Slovania or Hungary. So there I am sitting, not thinking that I need another ticket for the train and the conductor comes up asking me for my ticket. I give it to him and of course it's not valid. So I don't know what to do, ends up you can buy a ticket while on the train, which is a relief, so I do that and he explains that I have to get off at another stop to get another ticket. So I'm looking for this next stop and it never comes. A new conductor comes by later and again I do not have the right ticket because I am now in Hungary, so I have to pay again. I guess you can say that I had very selective attention when I decided to come to Budapest. If you ever get a EuRail pass, make sure you know what countries you have when you decide to do a spur of the moment trip. Can't wait to be back home in Prague on Monday!
